I just watched an episode of Unnatural History, a new series on the Cartoon Network. Judging from this episode, it's MacGyver with kids. It's a skeptical series with kids solving mysteries, a sort of live action Scooby Doo, clever and literate, featuring a teen who's been raised abroad but is now back home with his uncle and cousin while his parents continue their lives traveling around the world being archaeologists or something. Henry Griffin, the hero, his cousin Jasper and their best friend Maggie, who is no wallflower, get up to all sorts of things and think their way through to solutions, using logic and research. Henry applies his experience, Jasper his skeptical bent, and Maggie, the most skeptical of the three her unwillingness to accept the notion that the paranormal is the answer if a rational explanation is not immediately apparent. This week the story centered on figuring out that a so-called cursed ruby is no such thing. Next week's episode features magic. A nice series for kids and their adult pals.
I'm not so sure. Granted I haven't watched an episode but the info I can find online mentions the main character using his chi. I'll keep an open mind but stick with old scooby doo episodes for my almost 6 year old.
