Back in May, I wrote about Milwaukee's the Pfister Hotel, and the fact that some major league baseball players don't like to stay there because they think it might be haunted. Now comes the story that some members of the New York Knicks had a bad night at Oklahoma City's Skirvin Hilton because they heard things that went bump in the night, and those things weren't basketballs. In town to play the Oklahoma City Thunder, several players say they experienced things they couldn't explain while staying at the legendary hotel.
Says New York Daily News writer Frank Isola, "For years, guests staying at the Skirvin Hilton have reported ghost sightings and strange noises. Legend has it that sometime in the 1930s, a woman jumped to her death while holding her baby in her hands."
Are these ghosts Thunder fans? Even if they are, I don't think interference from these fan-toms is actionable. But I'd like to spend a night or two at the Skirvin Hilton, and check out these stories for myself. The hotel looks beautiful, and "sounds" really interesting.
