Mary Lou Robles, who works at the Calipatria State Prison snack bar, says she cut open a watermelon and saw an image of the Virgin of Guadelupe. So she stopped cutting up the watermelon and took it home, thinking the image was a sign from God. Apparently the melon hasn't deteriorated, although it's been over a week since Mrs. Robles cut it open. Now, I do have a question (well, I have more than one, but here's the one that's bothering me right now). Whose watermelon was this initially? The prison's or Mrs. Robles'? If it belongs to the prison, doesn't it have to go back? Read more about this remarkable watermelon here.
