Prince William and his bride Kate Middleton, now known as HRH The Duke of Cambridge, gave this year’s Wimbledon tennis tourney a Royal flush amid temperatures hitting 100 degrees plus courtside. This from the Hollywood Reporter.
Now known as HRH The Duke of Cambridge? Well, he is. She's not. The reporter could have said, "now known as Princess William, the Duchess of Cambridge," or "Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge," or "the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge." But she didn't change her gender along with her title. By the way, we should probably stop referring to her as Kate Middleton. They've been married two months. I prefer seeing her referred to as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, since people seem to have taken to referring to him by his title. Does this issue matter in the cosmos? No, but after considering the amount of ink spilled over this pair, I decided to weigh in, and I like gender equity. Onward.
