Blake Edwards, the celebrated director, has died at the age of 88. Mr. Edwards, who created such hits as "S.O.B.," the Pink Panther movies, and "Victor/Victoria" leaves behind a great legacy of films and popular culture references. He got his start as an actor, then moved into writing and directing with the iconic tv series "Peter Gunn," screen comedies such as "Operation Petticoat," and "10," which starred his wife Julie Andrews. Although one wouldn't think so, law and order is something of a theme in his work: think Inspector Clouseau, Peter Gunn, and Richard Diamond (the radio series). More here in a New York Times obit.
