Ghost Hunters is apparently headed for college. Craig Piligian is set to expand his franchise for the SciFi network with a spinoff set in academia, according to this Hollywood Reporter story, which quotes Mr. Piligian as saying "It's going to be more of a teaching format." According to SciFi veep Mark Stern, "What's cool about 'Ghost Hunters' is it has tried to rely on empirical science. This is an opportunity to delve into that a little deeper and take the show into a more academic setting." Interesting. Never thought about those aspects.
Well, it won't be a first. Ghost Hunting has already been offered at least twice, at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, and at Nicholls State University, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, a non-credit course, which was offered by Cally Chauvin and Brad Duplechien. Mr. Duplechien runs Louisiana Spirits, which is affliliated with TAPS (the Ghost Hunters people).
